PITC Module IV Session One: Harmonizing Cultural Diversity

In order to complete each module you will need to attend all four sessions each week. The sessions are scheduled from 1pm-3pm each afternoon.

Module IV: Culture, Family, and Providers. Participants will be encouraged to share personal experiences that will help inform their work and relate to gaining knowledge and building skill in culture sensitivity and competence. Participants will discuss short video vignettes from DVD ?Essential Connections: Ten Keys to Culturally Sensitive Child Care?. This module presents five keys that help infant/toddler care programs implement culturally responsive care and five keys infant care teachers scan use to support their efforts to become more aware of their own and others cultural perspectives as well as to work through cultural conflicts and misunderstandings. Training includes: small/large group discussions, hands-on activities, video vignettes, mini-lecture and power point presentation.
